Restaurant «Tarkhun»
Tarkhun is located in the center of Saint Petersburg, two steps from Malaya Sadovaya, across the road from Mikhailovsky Manege, next to the famous cinema “Dom Kino”. The restaurant plays a very important role in the entertainment world of the city due to its combination of cultures. The warmth of the southern sun, Georgian hospitality and charismatic gastronomy are combined with high art and creativity of the Northern capital. The owners and inspirers of the restaurant are Gocha Chkhaidze, patron and President of the Askaneli wine company, and his wife Irma Nioradze, prima ballerina of the Mariinsky theater.
The restaurant was previously visited by prominent figures of culture and art, among whom were Maya Plisetskaya and Rodion Shchedrin, Daniil Granin and Anatoly Belkin, Farukh Ruzimatov and Nikolai Tsiskaridze, Mikhail Boyarsky and Larisa Luppian, Mikhail Shvydkoy, Yuri Temirkanov, Valery Gergiev, Mikhail Piotrovsky and many others.
Tarkhun is the place where concepts for big projects are born, and great people are looking for inspiration here. However, despite the importance of this special status, the main advantage of the restaurant is really delicious food. People come here primarily for gastronomic discoveries.
The menu is designed in an eclectic style, combining Georgian and European cuisine in the right proportion.The accompaniment — a concise and well-composed wine list, where the main role is played by Georgian Askaneli wines produced up to the world highest standards.
The restaurant has excisted since 2007 and has managed to attract many fans among St. Petersburg residents and visitors. Since 2016, in Batumi, on the Black Sea coast , in the building of the five-star Hilton hotel, there has been a restaurant “Terrassa Askaneli”, where chef Shalva Papashvili prepares the best dishes of traditional Georgian cuisine .
